Considered one of the most beautiful school campuses in the Midwest, Northern State University (NSU) has a goal to provide its students with the excellent education in academics and to prepare students for any career in the future. It is a public university located in Aberdeen South Dakota and it marks 1889 as its foundation year. The university offers 38 major degrees, 42 minors, six associate degrees, eight pre-professional degrees and nine graduate degree areas. The university’s pre-professional and professional programs lead to degrees in Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, as well as Bachelor of Science in Education and Bachelor of Music Education. It has also the undergraduate and graduate programs in education which is usually for to prepare the teachers, guidance counselors and principals. Wolf is the university mascot that gives the label name of the school, the Northern State University Wolves.

Northern State University (NSU) campus is has trees around it shading the area of 72 acres of the school campus. Blooming flowers add beauty to the walkways during spring, summer and fall. There are 21 buildings and offices inside the campus which are bordered by a park-like center known as The Campus Green. The William’s Library offers students boasts of the full text online database resources which the students locate articles that they can print or send to their emails.

Finally, downtown Aberdeen is easily accessible from the campus. The near location of the campus to Aberdeen community has many things to offer NSU students i.e. shopping center, spa, sports, etc. Most significant to note is that local employers provide employment opportunities to NSU students while they attend classes.
