South Dakota’s Black Hills Loop areas are easily accessible with the use of a bicycle. The areas have remarkable heights, mysterious geologic formations and thick forests.

Wonderful scenic vistas, amazing national memorials and state parks are viewed in this unforgettable loop ride. Hearty cuisine and the riding partners camaraderie are to be enjoyed.

South Dakota’s Black Hills Cycling Tour is a guided bike tour that takes about seven days in length. Hiking, climbing and wandering out of Rapid City and into the foothills are the activities in the first day. Over night stop is at Lead, home of the famous Home stake Gold Mine.

Tours are also available in this historic mine. Day two is for traveling on the Mickelson Trail to the night’s stay at breathtaking campground outside of Hill City. Here, washing facilities for laundry are available. The third day is a nonstop travel along smooth rail trail and riding pass the famous Crazy Horse Memorial. The stop is a short drive from Mount Rushmore National Memorial.

One overnight stop is at the Town of Hot Springs. After in this place, you will enter into a large beautiful Custer State Park. From Mount Coolidge Peak with an elevation of 6,023 feet, Harney Peak is seen. Herds of bison on the plains below are also viewed. Even Badlands National Park with a distance of 60 miles away is spotted on broad daylight. The tour continues with a wild and enjoyable downhill ride will leave you pedaling right past the amazing park’s famous State Game Lodge.

This lodge served and stood as the actual “Summer White House”. The overnight is at historic Keystone. Here, a layover day and the opportunity to visit Mount Rushmore are offered. The last day of riding, is back to Rapid City, passing magnificent Lake Sheridan along the way ride. It is a shortest downhill ride with few hours to explore Rapid City and the surrounding area.

South Dakota’s Black Hills bicycle tour includes catered meals snacks and water during stop, as well as at the beginning with dinner on Day 1, and ending with lunch on the final day. Other things that are included would be
